2011 graduate of Cascade High School…Lettered three times each in football, basketball and track…Earned all-state honors in all three sports as a senior…Was a first team all-league selection in basketball, track and football as both a junior and senior…Player of the year in the conference for basketball as a senior…Played in the Shriners All-Star football game…Played in the basketball OACA game.

College

Tyrell attended Western Oregon University. As a Freshman, (2011) Tyrell was a Second team All-GNAC selection…Had 21 catches for 335 yards and three touchdowns…Had a season-long catch of 51 yards against Humboldt State…Also had catches of 49 and 47 yards…Posted a season-high 71 receiving yards against Humboldt…Scored touchdowns against Abilene Christian, HSU and CWU…Had a catch in eight of nine games including the final seven.

Professional

2015:

On May 2, 2015, Williams was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Diego Chargers following the 2015 NFL Draft.  On September 22, 2015, he was signed to the Chargers' practice squad. On November 21, 2015, he was promoted to the active roster. 

 

2016:

On January 3, 2016, Williams made his first catch of the season and caught an 80-yard touchdown reception in the regular season finale. He finished the game with two catches for a total of 90 yards and one touchdown against the Denver Broncos.

 

In the 2016 season, Williams finished his sophomore season with 69 catches for 1,059 yards and 7 touchdowns. It was the 36th 1,000-yard season in franchise history, and he became the 15th Chargers player to top 1,000 yards.

 

2017:

In 2017, Williams played in all 16 games with 15 starts, recording 43 receptions for 728 yards and four touchdowns.

 

2018:

On March 12, 2018, the Chargers placed a second-round restricted free agent tender on Williams. On April 23, 2018, he signed his tender.
